The tournament, which will include an Xbox and PlayStation division, will be held online over the weekends of November 7-8 and November. 14-15. The final round, which will be comprised of the Elite 8 in NBA 2K22 MT each division is scheduled for the weekend between November 21-22. It will be streamed live on TGS' Twitch channel. TGS will be the host and provide professional tournament management and production.
In addition to the awards and other benefits, a portion of funds raised from the event will go to three non-profit organizations. These include Cxmmunity which focuses on increasing the participation of minorities in games like esports. Also, the Beyond Sports foundation, dedicated to transforming athletic talent into real-world opportunity and That Harper Kid, the foundation created by former Chicago Sky guard Linnae Harper to benefit area youth.
Numerous Chicago area high school basketball stars have also offered their support to the cause which includes Jahil Okafor, Kendrick Nunn, Quentin Richardson, Darius Miles, Tim Hardaway, Deon Thomas, Hoop Dreams stars Arthur Agee and William Gates and Chicago high school legend Linnae Harper.
