Well, it didnt happen in bfa - we sucked there also drama wise, we had some raidtiers at which we had been middle of the pack rather than bottom third, but thats it. They eventually de-reworked the whole spec to a much better variant of the pre-legion gamestyle (gameplaywise) and then just never buffed us to be competitive in raids. I think they simply have some very dedicated designers for a few courses and specs, and the ones which are always abandoned and disregarded just dont have someone who wants it to succeed, so they just get looked in sparingly and receive a 5% buff here and there.

As somebody who had to quit playing classic as a result of lack of time, it has its flaws, because it is a really old sport now, but it did a lot right too. It did not have a ton of throwaway pieces. Everything in classic was basically required, in order to buy TBC Classic Gold function somewhere else in classic. I have not seen a match with systems that integrated since then.
